Q- What was it that first got you interested in photography, and how did the shift into being a MUA happen from there?

During my years in high school, I first discovered the field of photography. I have taken many photography courses. Thanks to my amazing teacher Peggy Finnegan, I had an opportunity to learn about different aspects and history of photography. Among many categories of photography, fashion and beauty photography have always been my favorite subjects to learn. In later years, after high school, I pursued to become a professional makeup artist. This profession gave me opportunities to work closely with many photographers and models in the fashion industry.

Q- You clearly are a man of many talents. From stylist to producer, there is a lot you cover; but which is the one that you’re more inclined towards?

I’m very grateful to be in the fashion industry for nearly 16 years now. I have been a make-up artist, a creative director, a casting director and a producer. I’ve learned and come a long way. It has been a very lovely journey for me.

Q- Now that you’re the Editor In Chief of Her World magazine (Vietnam), what is the one thing that you most love about this magazine, and the one thing you would want to change?

As an editor in chief of Her World Vietnam, what I love most about this magazine is that we feature and discover the best talents and all the hottest, newest fashion from all over the world. Theres not much I would change about the magazine, but I would love to bring a new vision, new fresh trend of fashion and beauty to the viewers. I’m thrilled for this opportunity to be part of Her World Vietnam, as an editor in chief. The magazine has always been one of the leading fashion magazine; featuring and discovering the best talents around the globe, as well as staying on top with the newest trends and fashion of the world. I would not change anything; but I would love to see Her World, and Her World Vietnam, in particular, to become a leading fashion magazine with a lot of freshness and a lot of newness; featuring new talents and exclusive content, that can only be found in here.

Q- What was the most memorable celebrity shoot of your profession so far, and why?

After being in the industry for nearly 16 years, we worked with countless number of celebrities. Every shoot is a different experience; but the most memorable shoot was with Neymar Jr, in Paris. We flew to Paris from New York for only two days to shoot with him. It was a very short trip, but packed with good experiences and great energies. Neymar was fun, full of great energy and very humble. It was right during the Covid19 outbreak time, so we took a big chance just to work with him, but it was all worth it. We lost two suitcase of clothes when we arrived in Paris. However, we were able to find them right before the photoshoot.

Q- Who, would you say, is the biggest competitor for your magazine, Her World, and why?

Before I took over Her World Vietnam, I am grateful to be working with many fashion magazines around the globe. I am thankful for all of the experiences and opportunities I had gained from working with them. This has given me a lot of motivation to embrace this opportunity, becoming editor in chief of Her World Vietnam. I like to think we are all brothers and sisters who are doing what we do best in our parts, to bring the best media contents for our readers.

Q- Besides photography, what are your other passions that many don’t know about?

Beside photography and fashion, one of my passion is to be able to travel the world and create contents and videos for YouTube Vlogs. I have actually started my YouTube channel, 6 months ago, to help me to kill a lot of downtime during the pandemic.

Q- What are the 5 make-up techniques that you can say would never fail?

As a makeup artist with 16 years of experience my personal top 5 makeup techniques that never fail would be: great fresh skin; don’t overdo your foundation and power. A fresh face is always better than a cakey makeup face. Second, would be great blush; choosing the right and great blush can make your face look less tired. Thirdly, follow this with a great lipstick that matches your outfit and occasions that you are attending. Fourth, Don’t overdo the lashes. It actually will make your eyes look less bright. Last but not the least, you must feel confident and beautiful inside to be able to look your best.
