Blood & Sand
As weird as the name suggests this drink to be, it’s actually the opposite of it. Originated from “The Savoy Cocktail Book” written by Henry Craddock in 1930, this drink has always been on every bar’s menu. The name can be given the credit for its popularity all these years but it would be unfair not to blame the taste for it.
Talking about the taste itself, if you do it correctly, you will taste a scotch somewhat not smoky but right at the sweet spot. Although the name itself was derived from Rudolph Valentino’s 1922 hit “Blood & Sand” movie it became far more popular than the movie itself. For all the drooling alcoholics, we are going to tell that how to make this beverage at your home, Scotch Style!
Well, you have to take the charge of saving your glass this time because, without alcohol, there is not much you can do to enjoy.
Ingredients:
- Scotch (3/4 ounce)
- Sweet vermouth (3/4 ounce)
- Heering cherry liqueur (3/4 ounce)
- Orange juice, freshly squeezed (3/4 ounce)
- Orange Peel (Garnishing)
How To Make:
- You will need a shaker for better mixability and taste. Once the shaker is ready, fill it up with some ice cubes of garnished ice for that cooling effect.
- After the ice and shaker are ready, now it’s time to mix. Take the Scotch, Sweet Vermouth, Orange Juice, and Cherry Liqueur together.
- Shake the mixture until you can feel the chilling sense of the ice and the cocktail together. If you have a cocktail glass, the overall aura of drinking it will enhance drastically.
- After pouring the Cocktail into the glass, you just need the orange peel for the final garnishing. Enjoy the chilled cocktail.
