You must have known from the title which place we are talking about here. Located in the Sari region of Uttarakhand lies the divine lake of Deoria Tal which is supported by a moderate trek of Deoriatal – Chandrashila.
Uttarakhand is also known as “Devbhoomi” of India, “Dev” meaning god and “Bhoomi” meaning land; i.e., Land of Gods. Previously a land falling into the state boundary lines of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand became an independent state in the 2000s.
Situated at an altitude of 2,438 meters, this trek is not the most difficult trek in India but surely bags a position when it comes to one of the most beautiful treks of India. Garhwal Himalayas is something that possesses a somewhat different aura that is not to be found anywhere else.
Reasons To Visit

If we start to count, the reasons would not be enough to make you believe why to visit this auspicious place but we have one thing to say, the experience says it all. We suggest you visit this place specifically in the month of March because of the oncoming Spring season.
The Deoriatal – Chandrashila trek is a summit trek that goes through the beautiful trails of Kedarnath’s Wildlife Sanctuary. For wildlife and nature lovers, this trek is going to be like a dream come true.
Usually, summit climbs are rewarding within themselves, you get to see what you crave from the highest peaks and the eternal feeling is beyond an explanation when you see that all your hard work and enthusiasm has finally paid off.
This trek is usually for around 6 days depending on your speed and physical capacity. When you will visit this for the first time, you may be welcomed by red lushing rhododendron plants which not only looks beautiful but enhance the authenticity of the view a lot.
Nothing is more beautiful than finding rhododendrons on a mountain and that too trails fully covered by them. They look astonishing when paired with the mesmerizing views and woody roundabouts.
You will face some of the highest peaks of the Uttarakhand peninsula namely Chaukhamba (Meaning: Four pillars of the Himalaya) supported by Gauri Parbat and Mandani Parvat which stands against India’s Tallest Mountain; Mt. Nanda Devi.
It’s not the difficulty of the trek but the whole package which presents itself so beautifully. Not that it does not cater for the factor of thrill. When you will climb from Chopta to Chandrashila, a rush of adrenaline may complement your efforts as it includes hardcore climbing through rough patches in between.
You can catch mesmerizing views from the Deoriatal lake which also has wide lush greenery covering the whole area. Why do we recommend March for visiting this trek? Well, it is because minimum to no snow would be visible in this period which makes ample room for the flora and fauna to prosper in the midst of sunny rays.

How To Reach
As this trek is an extension to the already popular Chopta Chandrashila trek, the route for reaching both of them remains the same. You have to reach Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand to reach the initial point of this trek.
By Bus
Buses are one of the easiest and most convenient ways to reach Rudraprayag. As the connectivity of this district is quite well versed from many major cities of the country like Delhi, Lucknow, and Gurugram. You just have to reach Rudraprayag District from which you have to reach Sari, a small town from where the trek initiates. You can take many local buses running from the district to Sari.
By Car
We recommend you use public transport as driving a car in the upper hemisphere of the Himalayas needs a quite good amount of practice and precision. Mountain’s spare nobody, so be precautious. By Car, you can easily mark the Rishikesh route from which Sari is 8-9 hours of driving.
By Airplane
Choose an aeroplane only if you travelling all the way from the southern hemisphere of the eastern part of India as you have to de-board at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun and then travel 221 Kilometres again just to reach Sari.
