The gorgeous Cruz sisters, Penélope and Monica, have come together to release their first creation together. Meet the newest Loewe bag.

By LÉ A TRICHTER-PARIENTE A As ambassador of legendary Spanish fashion house Loewe, Penélope Cruz joined hands with her sister, Monica, to create a new bag. The Cruz bag brings together the style sensibilities the actresses are known for, with a practicality that comes from both being new moms. “We wanted to give the bag a strong Spanish identity, which comes through with the polka dots,” elaborates Penélope. “It is a stylish allusion to our roots and is inspired by the Flamenco culture, a signature of the very Spanish-ness of the house of Loewe.” Talking of the ultra functionality of the bag, Monica adds, “The outer pocket and the strap make sure your hands can be free.”

And we wonder if there was any conflict as happens with siblings working together. “It has been easy because we are very close,”says Penélope. “We’ve had identical lifestyles and habits since we were teenagers. Even today, when I have nothing to wear, I hop across to Monica’s to borrow something from her wardrobe.”

The “Cruz” bag is available now. Prices starting at `1,34,000 approximately. Their favourites: Monica confesses her partiality towards the large black leather model of the Cruz bag, while Penélope loves the large brown model with orange polka dots.
