How and when did you get started in the modeling and acting industry?
It all started for fun as the world of modeling and acting always allured me. One day the director of “Miss Italy” pageant visited my family shoe store and introduced himself. I was 17 years old and he asked me if I wanted to participate in a selection for models in the area I resided in. What started out as fun ended up in a great achievement as I won the contest and thereafter, participated in the “Miss Italy” pageant in 2009. This opened opportunities for me to pursue a career in modeling in Venice, my hometown. Eventually from one step to another, Milan happened then all over the world. The journey has been immensely frantic, exciting and rewarding.
“Over the last two decades, Indian culture and fashion has become an integral part of global fashion. The vibrant colours and styles have been adorned by many across Europe and America.”
The world of modeling brought me closer to television, after participating in numerous advertising campaigns and television commercials. As a result and looking at the longevity of my career, I decided to enroll at one of the oldest acting schools in Italy. I fell in love with the theater and attended the academy for three years to become an actress. The craft is a never ending journey and I love being a paradigm to younger models aspiring to become actresses.
Being the face of fashion, who are your favourite designers?
Even during the tenure of my early modeling days, I studied in the academy “Burgo” in Milan to become a fashion designer. My all time favourite designer has to be the iconic, Coco Chanel. Her life, struggles and achievements are a collective testament to her iconic status that lives on today in fashion globally.
We always consider models to be perfection personified. What is your idea of 'beauty'?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty for me is good character, strength in the darkest of time. To smile and be humble to every human is the best of beauty and character.
What are the thoughts that come to your mind when you think of India?
If I close my eyes and think of India, I envisage the vibrant colours: orange, blue, red and green. I find India to be a magical and enchanting country that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime. My personal experience is the breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal in Agra at sunrise. It has been etched in my memory forever.

What are your views on Indian culture and fashion?
It has become apparent over the last two decades that Indian culture and fashion has become an integral part of global fashion. The vibrant colour and fashion styles have been adorned by many across Europe and America. Fashion in India is absolutely unique and hasn’t been replicated by any other nation. Personally I adore wearing a saree, as it makes me feel regal and royal. The first time wearing it, I must say, was a difficult task, but once mastered, it’s liberating. My favourite cuisine is Indian, the aromas, spices and herbs tantalises the taste buds like never before.
As we know that times are changing, brands and designers are striving for inclusivity in fashion. Coming from this industry, what is your opinion on the same?
As fashion has been changing over time, so does the consumer’s sense of style and desire. Social media has a great impact on fashion trends. People are breaking the stereotypes on body images. It is about embracing the real you. Even designers today, are catering to the broader spectrum of sizes which goes on to show how the times are changing for good.
How do you manage to stay fit amidst your hectic schedule?
Having a very hectic lifestyle of travel and work commitments, I find solitude and tranquility with my horse, Tango. He brings equilibrium to my life and resets my mind. Having participated in many competitions, my training is rigorous and rewarding. My love for horses stems from my childhood. I have a healthy lifestyle of keeping fit and eating right. Practicing Bikram Yoga is also an integral part of my life.
What is your take on diet?
Eat little, often and a little bit of everything. Never skip meals, eat right and well. Have a lot of vegetables in your diet. I opt for fasting once a week as it helps me to cleanse the body and mind.
How was your experience shooting for L'Officiel India?
We had planned this shoot with a lot of dedication and work. I would like to thank my team of professionals, who have created an elegant, classy and visually aesthetic shoot. For me, it is a dream come true and I am proud to be on the cover
Tell us about your upcoming projects.
First, I would like to anticipate that my first Indian film, titled War and starring Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor, will be released in October. Being part of a Yash Raj Films production is an absolute honor. My scene was filmed in Lake Como, Italy and it was a rewarding experience. I hope this will open the avenues for more roles in Bollywood. The majority of my scenes were filmed with Mashhoor Amrohi, a very kind individual besides being a good actor.
Further, I will be preparing for my entrance exams at the University of Milan as a veterinarian, because this is one of my many dreams to realise. In September, I will be participating in a famous reality television show in Italy. I also plan to move to Rome next year, where under the guidance of my coach, Paola Maffioletti, I would enhance my acting skills. I also want to get married and start a family that would be a dream comes true.
