In a world where image often takes centre stage, Nera Lesic offers something deeper. Whether she’s gracing fashion’s biggest platforms or meditating with mantras, her story is anything but ordinary. Nera Lesic’s story is one of beauty, strength, and compassion. With grace and purpose, she has walked some of the world’s most prestigious runways, graced the Cannes Film Festival, and dedicated herself to causes that uplift communities across the globe. In this exclusive conversation with L’Officiel India, Nera opens up about fashion, philanthropy, love, and her deep connection to India’s culture.

Nera, you were crowned Miss Europe. How did that experience shape your path in fashion and beyond?

Being crowned Miss Europe was truly life-changing. It opened doors for me in the fashion industry and gave me the confidence to express myself on a larger stage. But more importantly, it taught me about the responsibility- that with visibility comes the opportunity to inspire and uplift others.

You’ve walked in numerous fashion shows and attended iconic events like the Cannes Film Festival. What have been some of your most memorable moments in the fashion world?

There have been so many incredible moments, from walking for designers I admire to feeling the energy of the audience during a show. But Cannes was particularly special. The glamour, the creativity, and the chance to connect with artists from all over the world made it unforgettable.

From the glamorous runways to humanitarian work in Africa — tell us what inspired you to dedicate time to these causes.

I believe that true fulfilment comes when we give back. Visiting Africa and working with local communities humbled me and reminded me of what matters. It’s so important to use any platform we have to support and uplift those in need.

You’ve experienced so many cultures through your travels. How have these experiences influenced your personal style and philosophy?

Travel has been my greatest teacher. Every culture I’ve encountered has left an imprint on me — from colours and fabrics to the deeper values of kindness and resilience. My style has become a reflection of these influences: diverse, fluid, and always evolving.

Our readers will be fascinated to know that you’ve developed a love for Hindu mantras. What drew you to this spiritual tradition?

There’s something incredibly calming and powerful about Hindu mantras. I was drawn to their rhythm and meaning, which helps me find inner peace, especially in today’s fast-paced world. It’s a beautiful way to connect with myself on a deeper level.

You mentioned that you dream of visiting India’s famous temples. Is there a particular temple or region in India that you would love to explore first?

It’s so hard to choose because India is full of incredible spiritual places! But I would love to visit Varanasi and experience the ghats and temples there. The idea of being in such an ancient, sacred city truly fascinates me.

How do you balance your passion for fashion with your commitment to humanitarian efforts?

For me, they go hand in hand. Fashion is a powerful platform, and I try to use it not just to celebrate beauty but also to raise awareness for causes that matter. It’s all about intention — bringing heart into everything I do.

As a global citizen and fashion icon, what message do you hope to share with young women who look up to you?

I want young women to know that they can be both strong and kind, ambitious and compassionate. True success isn’t just about what you achieve, but how you help others along the way.

What’s next for Nera Lesic — in fashion, philanthropy, or personal dreams?

I’m excited to continue exploring both the fashion world and new humanitarian projects, as well as working on new business projects. And of course, visiting India’s temples is high on my personal list! I believe in staying curious and open — life always has beautiful surprises in store.

Our readers are always curious — how do you approach love and relationships in your life?

I believe that love is a beautiful part of life, but it’s something that should come naturally and at the right time. I see love as something deeply sacred — not just in a romantic sense, but as a spiritual connection between souls. The right relationship should align with your energy, support your purpose, and bring peace.

What qualities do you value most in a partner?

Kindness, emotional depth, and someone who respects and supports my passions. I admire people who are curious about the world, grounded, and who share a sense of purpose.
