The one Monday that has us buzzing instead of groaning? That's when the Met Gala rolls into town! It's like May's way of saying, "Sit tight, folks, and let the fashion fireworks begin!" We transform into the fashion critics you never knew you wanted but absolutely must have.
On May 6th, our mission was simple, to scout the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. This year's theme, staying true to tradition yet bursting with creativity, took direct inspiration from J.G. Ballard's timeless tale, "The Garden of Time," published back in 1962. Anticipation buzzed through the air, promising a spectacle of either blooming florals or nostalgic blasts from the past. But hold onto your hats, folks, because our favorite celebrities threw in a delightful twist, showcasing their unique personalities and unleashing some truly out-of-the-box thinking!

Jennifer Lopez holds the record for rocking the Met Gala red carpet more times than anyone else! No surprise there—she brings the sass that perfectly syncs with the theme every single year.
Let's switch gears to fashion at warp speed! India was abuzz with excitement over a Bollywood sensation rocking the scene. Alia Bhatt walked down the verdant-hued carpet, donning a jaw-dropping floral masterpiece by Sabyasachi. This saree wasn't just fabric; it was a royal ode to India's elegance. And oh, that color! It whispered sweet nothings to nature, mirroring the hues of our earth, sky, and sea.
Lana Del Rey pondered over the theme and whipped up a gown fit for royalty. Del Rey rocked a stunning silk, tulle, and georgette corseted dress adorned with hand-embroidered thorny vines, creating a magical illusion of them crawling up from her skirt and twirling around her head. This veiled cream masterpiece was none other than Alexander McQueen's creation, sheathed by the talented Seán McGirr.
It's a bummer we didn't get a big dose of Schiaparelli at the Met Carpet this year, but Jennifer Lopez showed up like a goddess wearing a Schiaparelli gown that was made with over 2.5 million silver foil bugles and beads and took over 800 hours of hand embroidery to create. Her makeup was slaying, and the hair? Total vibe overload!
Gigi Hadid, the queen of the catwalk, walked in a divine ivory creation by Thom Browne! This stunning ensemble featured an off-the-shoulder column dress accompanied by a colossal detachable skirt, boasting extravagant ruffles fit for a fashion fairy tale. The embroidered yellow rose with edgy black petals stole the show, while a garden of other roses danced along the generous skirt, cascading gracefully onto the carpet.
Tyla's Met Gala debut made waves, especially when the guard swooped her onto the stairs. She got the royal treatment every girl dreams of. Balmain crafted her a sand dress, a nod to time's sands, hugging her curves before flaring into a mermaid train. The dress, with three sand colors and micro crystal studs, sparkled with her every step. Her Balmain hourglass clutch was the cherry on top!
And of course, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters wouldn't dream of skipping the Met Gala! The older sis, Kimberly, rocked a one-of-a-kind ensemble from Maison Margiela. Kim wore a fierce bustier top with floral vibes, paired with a silver floral chainmail dress, cleverly folded as a skirt, and topped off with a custom Margiela thong to match. Meanwhile, supermodel Kendall slayed in an Alexander McQueen stunner – a sleek black dress crafted from a glitzy, semi-sheer fabric. It boasted sassy V-shaped mesh panels accentuating the curves, along with a dazzling gold spiked collar lining the daring neckline.
