Krystal Xamairy is a force that transcends the surface. Krystal opens up about what it means to embrace the highs and lows of life, how to find beauty in authenticity, quiet confidence, kindness, and the ability to make others feel truly heard. A pageant titleholder, an actress, and an advocate for staying true to one’s roots, she’s carved out a space where confidence meets vulnerability. In her conversation with L’Officiel India, she opens up about what it means to embrace every chapter of your story, the power of self-celebration, and how she hopes to leave a lasting impact on the world, which is rooted in love, strength, and unwavering authenticity.

Hi Krystal. Welcome to L’Officiel India. You’ve walked international pageant stages and lit up screens with your presence—what’s your personal definition of beauty beyond just appearance?

My definition of beauty goes way beyond appearance. Beauty is the quiet confidence someone carries when they know who they are and stay true to it. It’s in kindness that’s shown when no one’s watching, and in the way someone makes others feel seen and heard. That kind of beauty sticks and leaves an impression long after the physical fades.

Every beauty queen has a secret weapon—whether it’s a mindset, a skincare hack, or a lucky charm. What’s yours?

Love that question. If I had to pick a secret weapon, I would choose a fun one… maybe a lucky playlist. Music that hypes you up and centers you at the same time. Game changer!

You’re representing Puerto Rico everywhere you go. What’s one Puerto Rican phrase or saying you wish the whole world knew?

One Puerto Rican phrase I wish the whole world knew is, “Al Mal Tiempo, Buena Cara, which means, To bad weather, a good face.” It’s all about keeping your head up, staying positive, and facing tough times with grace and strength. It’s that classic Boricua resilience: life throws storms, but we dance in the rain.

If you could give one piece of advice to young women looking up to you, what would it be?

I’d say, “Own your story in every chapter of it. The wins, the mistakes, the moments you doubted yourself, they all shape who you are, and that’s your power. Be soft when you want, strong when you need, and never apologize for shining.

In five years, where do you see yourself—Hollywood red carpet, CEO of your own brand, or somewhere totally unexpected?

In five years, I see myself telling powerful stories by acting in more projects and building something that leaves a legacy. Whether that’s on a Hollywood red carpet, leading my own brand, or doing something unexpected like running a global nonprofit, as long as it’s authentic and full of heart, I’m there.

You can only wear one makeup look for the rest of your life—are we going for bold lips, flawless skin, or killer lashes?

Easy call, I’m going with flawless skin. When your skin is glowing, confidence just hits differently.

You get to create a beauty law—what’s the one rule everyone must follow?

My beauty law would be, “No comparing, only celebrating.” Everyone’s beauty is unique, and the moment we start seeing each other as art instead of competition, the whole game changes. Hype yourself and hype others.

You starred in Gina Yei. If you could step into a Disney princess role, which one would you play?

I starred in Gina Yei, and it was a dream come true, so stepping into a Disney princess role would feel like the perfect full-circle moment. I’d pick Moana hands down. She’s fearless, connected to her culture, driven by purpose, and listens to her heart even when it goes against expectations. Plus, her love for her people and her island? That’s so Puerto Rican energy.

Imagine you’re starring in a Latina-led action movie—what’s your character’s name, and what’s her superpower?

This is a difficult question. I think my character name would be La Chispa Rodríguez. “Chispa” means “spark,” so her superpower? She can literally spark anything. Also, she would be super funny and energetic, haha, I love this idea!

Finally, if you could leave people with one lasting impression of Krystal Xamairy, what do you hope it is?

I want people to remember Krystal Xamairy as someone who represented her roots with pride, led with love, and lived pa’lante (always forward), even when the world said stop.
