The biggest names in Hollywood and beyond flocked to the Beverly Hilton to honour the best in film and television during the 81st Golden Globe Awards as glamour returned for yet another year in the form of dazzling gowns, sharp suiting, and sparkling accessories. Brace yourselves!

The Golden Globes serve as the official kick off of red carpet season this year, setting the sartorial bar for the two-month parade of awards shows to come. Just like each year this year’s Sunday night’s step-and-repeat at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles didn’t disappoint. Nominees including Selena Gomez heated up one of Hollywood’s biggest nights in shades of red, while high shine was the name of the game for Taylor Swift, Emma Stone and Julia Garner.

Year after year, people complain that celebrities aren’t watching the couture shows closely enough and taking the kind of fashion risks that feel like a fantasy. Whereas, this year those (people) would be served the archieves on a platter. And those still mourning the end of the pink-tastic “Barbie” press tour were treated to another doll-inspired look from Margot Robbie, who chose to channel 1977’s Superstar Barbie for the evening. Below, see all the best-dressed celebrities from the Golden Globes 2024 red carpet.

Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne brought the drama to the red carpet with her stunning Schiaparelli couture dress. The avant-garde silhouette, the playful fringe, the way her tomato-red hair complemented the bone white colour is just perfection from every edge! Wearing a statuesque Schiaparelli from the Spring/Summer 2023 runway, which had plenty of commenters on Twitter claiming, “Oh … she’s taking it.” And yes, she is taking it there. With the early arrival of this best actress nominee and Poker Face star Lyonne, is someone whose forward-thinking style perfectly suited this fringe-embroidered bustier gown from the house’s Spring 2023 haute-couture collection.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie

Just when you thought Barbie pink had faded from the mainstream, Margot Robbie revived the brilliant hue with a spot-on reference to 1977’s Superstar Barbie. This look definitely got us digging the hot pink back out of our closets. Because Margot Robbie truly rocked a hot pink sequin Giorgio Armani Privé gown with a feather boa — her most Barbie-forward look yet. The custom design, was inspired by the 1977 SuperStar Barbie's 50th anniversary, and was made for a celebration. Robbie’s stylist, Andrew Mukamal, worked with Giorgio Armani, who created the Barbie producer/star’s ultra- glamorous pink sequined gown with tulle wrap.

Of channelling the commemorative doll, the star of Barbie walked out in this exquisitely on point homage to 1977’s Superstar Barbie. With an added bonus: her over $3M of Lorraine Schwartz jewellery, earrings and a ring featuring 33 carats of white and pink diamonds. We were hoping against hope that she’d saved up a few super-glam Barbie homages for awards season, and this felt like an opening salvo for another barrage of pink gowns to come. Looking sleek and disco-ready, the oversized tulle of her wrap was hilariously brilliant. She finished the look with satin pink pumps by Manolo Blahnik.

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh has indeed put a high-fashion spin on the dancing red lady emoji, proving red-carpet looks don’t have to be boring. The actor rocked topping off a sheer see-through custom Valentino gown (with no pants underneath) and a platinum blonde faux-hawk, signalling the return of punk rock n roll-inspired updo created by Virtue Creative Director Adir Abergel for the year ahead. Well, that’s not all, she also accentuated her look with several Tiffany & Co. pieces. This star of Oppenheimer has been on a body-positive, free-the-nip fashion campaign for quite some time now and we love how she combines punk-inspired styling with sexy glam styles.

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld

We purely loved Hailee Steinfeld’s custom pink Prada dress. Her look was straight out of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, with the opera gloves and up-do to match. Pink may have been a top colour trend at the Golden Globes, but no one looked more sleek and chic in the hue than Hailee Steinfeld, whose sleeveless gown with train was accented with sheer black gloves, a black hair bow and jewels by Maison Boucheron. This was a night where Hollywood seemed to embrace minimalist, classic styles without a lot of embellishment and this look might just be our favourite of all of them. It’s retro, sexy, and amazingly elegant.

Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen stunned in bridal-inspired Vivienne Westwood. The actor’s white gown combined the brand’s signature impeccable corseting with textured floral appliqués at the bust and peeks of skin under the sheer floral lace panels of the skirt. Also opting for a bridal-inspired look, Elizabeth Olsen, looked beautiful in this lace panelled gown by Vivienne Westwood, which – of course – included a perfect corset. She accessorised with jewellery by Reza, as well as ravishing red lips and nails.

Lily Gladstone

Lily Gladstone

Lily Gladstone

Lily Gladstone’s entire look was perfection. It was a night for big wraps and neutral colours, but even then, Killers of the Flower Moon star, Lily Gladstone stood out. The Golden Globe winner stunned in a bright-white strapless custom gown by Valentino, a ruffled black shawl, and a diamond choker. She completed the look with an elegant braided chignon and earrings from Blackfoot designer Lenise Omeaso of Antelope Women Designs. Truly a master class in award-winning red-carpet glam and style. The dress is as simple as can be, but the diamonds are stunning and that luxurious opera coat finishes off the look beautifully. Instead of a simple and classic style, she comes off like a grande dame of cinema.

Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan made a statement with silhouette, who chose a vintage Schiaparelli gown from 1949. This lobster dress at Schiaparelli’s most recent couture show took the internet by storm and was deemed a real fashion delicacy. But the look was actually based on an archival Schiaparelli design from 1949. The black fishtail dress had additional drama in the form of an embellished bust. It was freaky, weird and sexy and, yes, delicious, in a way nothing else on the red carpet was. Moreover, Roseberry’s love of corset styling for Schiaparelli is subtly reflected in this black silk gown with trumpet skirt and asymmetrical beading on the strapless sweetheart bodice. While, the diamond jewels by Bulgari and Manolo Blahnik’s BB Pump in black satin completed the look for the Maestro star.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone

Emma Stone was a big winner on the night. The actress wore a breathtaking deep low V-cut embellished evening gown by Louis Vuitton featuring a plunging neckline, with subtle floral graphic, and a dramatic slit up the leg. Featuring an embroidered delicate floral appliqué embellishments motif over the gown, accented with metallic roses that perfectly complemented the flower-filled step-and-repeat on the red carpet. As for her hair look, Stone went for flipped-out bob, a.k.a. the hairstyle of the night. She completed her look with a pair of strappy nude heels and silver dangling earrings from the label's High Jewellery collection.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift

Living in her green era. Taylor Swift has become known for her sparkly shimmering dresses, but it appears she might just be exiting her Midnights era with this snake-green green metallic Gucci number. As the slinky (and snaky) gown feels like an exciting departure from her signature style, and one can’t help but wonder. This megawatt Eras Tour star’s brilliant green gown by Gucci’s Sabato De Sarno was embellished all over with sequins, while her multiple pieces jewellery by De Beers totalled more than 33 carats of white diamonds. Swift finished the look with Christian Louboutin’s Kate stiletto pump in matching green leather. For the award show, nominee Taylor Swift embodied her highly anticipated rerelease, Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in a dress.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez

A diva isn’t afraid to put her own spin on Barbiecore when she wants to. We’re talking about none other but J.Lo, who nearly stole the show while delivering sexy classic Hollywood glam with just the right amount of over-the-top exuberance to make it her own. Those rosettes on her arms look like they would be annoying to haul around all night, but we love the drama of that wrap. Her stunningly romantic look was by Taiwan-based sister designers Nicole and Felicia Chang, whose label Nicole + Felicia excels at lush looks for bridal and special occasions. Lopez chose jewels by Maison Boucheron, including a hummingbird ring that she hinted was an Easter egg to an upcoming project.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa

Margot Robbie is not the only cast member of Barbie who knows how to dress according to a theme. Mermaid Barbie showed up dressed like a musical instrument, which makes perfect sense for her because she was nominated for Best Original Song for “Dance the Night Away.” We love the dress, which is exactly how we feel about her in this custom Schiaparelli gown with protruding gold bones against black velvet. The only thing that could make the look even more major was her archival Tiffany choker from 1962.

Keri Russell

Keri Russell

Keri Russell

A Golden Globe best-actress nominee for The Diplomat, wore a custom dress inspired by the Jil Sander Spring 2024 collection by Lucie and Luke Meier, a sleeveless superfine viscose double face sequin-embroidered dress in a hue dubbed “cloud,” with a crystal necklace and feather bag also by the house. Russell finished the look with a diamond ear cuff and diamond bands by Jacob & Co.

Elizabeth Debicki

Elizabeth Debicki

Elizabeth Debicki made a glittering entrance at the Golden Globes in a Dior Haute Couture dress from the label’s fall 2023 collection. The actress won her first Golden Globe for her portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown”. Debicki also added on jewels by the French label, which included layered necklaces and a tennis bracelet. While, Aquazzura shoes completed her ensemble. She has brought down her Dior look and “no-makeup makeup” look complementing perfectly.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt

The phrase “gilding the lily” must have been top-of-mind of ever-elegant Emily Blunt, when this custom Alexander McQueen gown was made. The design centered on a heavily embellished V-neck bodice covered in gold sequins and floral embroidery, before flowing into a sheer white mermaid-style skirt. Blunt accessorized the dress by showering herself in diamonds, from her Tiffany & Co. diamond-encrusted gold-leaf necklace to her simple stud earrings, dazzling cuff bracelet, and oversized cocktail ring. She finished the look with a metallic gold manicure, Jimmy Choo platform gladiator shoes, and a slightly undone chignon secured with a statement hair pin.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence made a case for quiet luxury at the 2024 Golden Globes, walking the red carpet in a timeless, midnight-blue, velvet floor-length gown by Dior and shimmering with a necklace and statement cuff earrings by Tiffany & Co. accessorised with a studded clutch. The sleeveless plunging dress featured a relaxed hourglass silhouette and a deep, draped V neckline – and was the very best example of simplicity done well on the red carpet. Lawrence wore minimal make-up with the look, and her silky, layered, side-parted hairstyle – which looked low-key but undoubtedly wasn’t –instead was as classic as her ensemble.

Karen Gilan

Karen Gilan

Despite the cold temperature, Karen Gillan wore a creative sheath of strategic cutouts and overlapping paillettes by Iris Van Herpen. The actress has once again gone the untraditional route, choosing an avant-garde reptilian inspired gown by Dutch designer. Because the dress was definitely the star of the show, she paired it with simple jewelry that included dainty rings and an ear cuff by Suzanne Kalan. While, additionally opted for traditional black heels and a slick hairstyle, allowing for her natural beauty to shine.

Brie Larson

Brie Larson

Another unique look came from Brie Larson, who chose a Prada wisteria technical ankle-length satin dress is already better than anything the actress wore during the last year. Topped off with the sweetheart neckline and wide swing skirt like silhouette, styled with Old Hollywood waves, which was indeed a charming look from ‘The Marvels’ actress. Well, she also accessorised the look with matching pointy Prada pumps, and a selection of jewellery by Fred Leighton and Kwiat Diamonds completed her look.

Julia Garner

Julia Garner

Julia Garner

There are low-cut gowns and then there are gowns like Julia Garner’s shimmering floor-length silver sequin dress with a plunging neckline and high waist from Gucci, which completely redefine the genre. With two plunging straps akin to suspenders, the gown is undeniably sultry. She topped off her look with silver platform heeled sandals from Santoni. Incorporated into the most glittering and awe-inspiring gown, you would say that Julia didn’t need anything in terms of jewels, but for accessories, she selected jewellery from Monica Vinader, including wrap earrings and a bangle.
