Melissa, looking at your social networks, it is safe to say that you are the girl who reflects the mood of the modern era, you travel a lot and visit the most interesting places. Tell us which cities are your favourite, and where do they know how to arrange the most beautiful parties?

My favourite cities for the past year have been London and Miami. London is great for travelling due to its great location in Europe and also for being a multicultural city. I recommend visiting London during autumn, spring and summer when the city is the busiest. My favourite suburbs in London are Mayfair and Marylebone, where a lot of the main private clubs and some of the world’s best restaurants and hotels are located. Miami, on the other hand, is where I like to spend winters. It’s the liveliest city in the world from November until April. The large concentration of creative people, art galleries and upcoming fashion brands make it a must-stop for all design lovers. Both Miami and London always have interesting venues of all sorts and many charity events.

Imagine that you have 7 days of vacation that you need to spend as interestingly as possible, what would you choose for yourself?

Considering 7 days to be a short period of time, I would have a relaxing vacation in two spots, Italy and Spain. Italy has always been associated with incredibly varied and delicious cuisine, impeccable style in everything, and Milan, where you will be able to find unique fashion items that are not available anywhere else in the world. And in Spain, I feel the spirit of freedom combined with great pleasure from ancient architecture. Of course, do not forget about the beaches – my favourite being Marbella and the island of Ibiza.

If we talk about your profession as a model, what is the most difficult and interesting thing in your work?

The most interesting thing is definitely the people that you get to meet and network with and the places you get to see. And if we talk about difficulties, I perceive them most likely as a challenge. For example, it can be an unusual shoot for fashion brands on a rocky area near the ocean, where it is sometimes cold and windy, and you have to stand in an uncomfortable position for a few hours until the perfect shot is taken. The climate can also be a challenge depending on what outfit we would be shooting outdoors. It’s also very important to be delicate when having the outfits changed, to avoid any damage or make-up stains to the fabrics. But in spite of everything, I really like my profession.

Tell us about the photoshoot for L’Officiel Cover?

I am very pleased to open the cover of the April issue because this is the month when nature comes to life and is filled with the fragrant flowering of trees and flowers. We shot bright and sunny for the cover in Los Angeles, one of my favourite cities in the world. We had a big team, but since I personally like to take part in the development of the concept, I’ve chosen some of the outfits myself. The shooting took place with the popular photographer Igor Malakhov. He partnered with American real estate tycoon Jonathan Sands and found the perfect location for our project. We wanted to capture all the colours of spring, its juiciness and versatility in the shoot – after all, this is exactly what everyone is waiting for after a long winter.

Share your secret of staying so beautiful and feminine and yet at the same time having a successful career?

I enjoy light exercise focusing on Cardio and Pilates. And for my diet, I eat in small quantities 3 to 4 times per day. I don’t like to have a restrictive diet nor do I think it’s necessary as long as you control the size of the portions. My other secrets are to sleep as much as I can when I have the time for it, and also to drink around 2-5 litres of water every day.

Particular attention always belongs to your style, you have great taste, tell us who helps you with your outfits? Are there any designers you like the most?

My favourite designers at the moment are Thierry Mugler and Dion Lee. Charissa Trikos is my personal stylist and I always have her feedback before purchasing any new item for my wardrobe. Together we make sure that my outfits are always on point and that also I find versatile pieces that are suitable for the lifestyle of a person who travels a lot.

Do you have places of power that allow you to recover after a difficult work week?

I enjoy exercising, eating healthy and doing a detox at the spa when time allows. I also think it’s very important and good for everybody to be able to disconnect from our phones for a few hours each week. For me, there is sometimes magical about living in the moment and being unreachable in my free time.

Tell us about your dreams and plans, what does the girl who reflects the mood of the era wanted?

My plans for 2022 are to learn French as a fourth language during summer. And my dream is to have my own fashion label focusing on light and sustainable fashion, specially made for women who travel a lot.
