Making workout routine plans every day yet not being able to act on them is a very common habit of ours. Our schedules are so packed with our everyday work that making some space for exercising may seem like a tough job to do. However, staying fit is extremely necessary. For this to work, all you need to do now is spare 15 minutes of your day for a quick workout that will leave you fit for the day.
Keeping your blood flowing properly throughout your body is quite important during these times. A few minutes of exercise every day doesn’t hurt anybody. The exercises we bring to you today have been recommended by certified trainers and groups of fitness instructors. The best part? You do not need a single gym equipment for them. These exercises are perfect for a 15 minutes workout and you can simply perform these exercises without any hassle. Here they are!
Jumping Jacks
I am sure everyone is quite aware of this very famous exercise. Jumping jack is a common exercise done during cardio. It is called a side straddle hop in the US military and is also known as star jump, probably because of the alignment of your hands, legs and head. To perform Jumping Jacks:
- Stand upright and keep your hands by your side.
- Jump with spreading both legs out and raise both arms above your head so that your hands meet.
- Return to the starting position again.
- Continue this exercise for at least 1 minute.
High Knees
This is a cardio-intensive exercise that is usually performed at a fast pace and strengthens your core and the muscles in your legs. Including this, it also increases your heart rate and gets the blood flowing in your body. This exercise has many benefits. It helps you improve your momentum, flexibility as well as coordination. To perform this exercise:
- Stand straight and keep your hip-width apart
- Run in the same place by bringing your knees to your chest as high as you can. You can either pump your hands along with your knees or hold them upright in front to meet your knees.
- Keep your back straight and your chest lifted. Land lightly on your feet.
- Repeat for at least 1 minute.
Push-ups
We are no strangers to push-ups. Counting the number of push ups you can perform in a minute has been one of our favourite sports. It is also a perfect exercise for a quick workout. With push ups, you raise your body with your shoulders. It helps you to build a great upper body as well as core strength. Push up has been modified into many exercises. To save more time, you can exercise an amalgamation of push up with another exercise. For example, shoulder touch. One simple shoulder touch with push up can be very beneficial. To perform this:
- In a high plank position, keep your shoulders parallel to your wrists and your hand width apart. Keep your legs extended behind you and your palms straight.
- Bring your body close to the ground and drop your knees if needed. But, remember to keep your core engaged.
- Come back to the high plank by pushing through your palms and straightening your arms. Tap your right shoulder with your left hand and your left shoulder with your right hand. Try to keep your hips as still as possible and your body in a fixed position. Make sure you are not swaying.
- If you find it difficult in the first few tries, try separating your legs a little more.
- Repeat this for around one minute.
Plyo Lunge
Plyo lunges work wonderfully for your lower body. By engaging your glutes, hip flexors, calves as well as cardiovascular system, the Plyo lunges help in strengthening your lower body and your core perfectly. To perform Plyo lunges:
- Keep your knees soft and stand with your feet together. Jump and bring your left leg forward in the lunge position.
- Jump straight back up. Switch your legs in the air and bring your right left forward in the lunge position this time.
- Make sure your butt and your core are engaged.
- Continue this for at least 1 minute.
Apart from these, you can also perform Burpees, Glute Bridge, Sit Ups, and even Squats. By doing each of these exercises for 1 minute each for 2 rounds and including the rest of 1 minute, you can workout within 15 minutes every day to achieve a healthy and happy body.
