Another issue, another TikTok aesthetic taking over our feeds and we have been adoring just the "mob wife aesthetic," as many are calling it. Not only is this trend circulating our FYP pages on TikTok, but it's also sparking polarized opinions. Many are criticizing this trend because of being popularly based in Italian culture, as exclusionary and appropriating both Italian and immigrant culture. Others have embraced the lavish lifestyle, fetching vintage furs that haven't seen the light of day since the '80s out of their mothers' closets and loading up on gold accessories.

And we have also eloquently dubbed it as "a kind of mafia cosplay," it's all about moody colours, animal prints, big fur coats, and flashy designer goodies. To top it all off, you need bold makeup and a don't mess with my attitude to match. After all, fashion, jewellery and furs are just indicative of the lifestyle.
With its throwback feel — incorporating elements of the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, and Y2K — mob wife glamour is the most recent example of how the new generation discovering “vintage” aesthetics and bringing them back into the spotlight.
