Plumes of Priceless Glamour

With its high value, masterful craftsmanship, and singularity of gems, the Peacock brooch is the ultimate testament to Laurence Graff's vision—and to the imagination that transcends the adornment of diamonds into the realm of fine art.

Plumes of Priceless Glamour

Graff Diamonds founder Laurence Graff has been the 'king of diamonds' for decades—a title well-earned, especially considering one of his most outrageous designs: a US$100 million peacock brooch. Few dared to undertake such a lavish challenge, securing Graff's place as the best and most adventurous in high-end jewellery. This beautiful piece emerged for the first time at the renowned TEFAF art fair in Maastricht, a stage that is extremely visited by high-end collectors around the world searching for the highest-quality ancient artefacts and works of art.

Standing at a mere 10 centimetres in height (4 inches approximately), the brooch boasts a whopping 120.81 carats of fancy-coloured diamonds. Its centrepiece is a striking 20.02-carat fancy deep blue pear-cut diamond—a stone that is truly uncommon by any standard. Set around a precision-designed white and coloured diamond pattern, this focal point has been sensitively set by Graff's expert craftsmen in the brand's London workshop.

The streamlined figure of the peacock is used as the inspiration for the design, with outstretched tail feathers covered in a progression of diamonds in blue, yellow, orange, pink, green, and white colours. White diamonds at the end of each feather are cut to replicate the slim floral flowers, providing still another level of refinements and artistry to the already stately structure on its own. The craft not only exhibits the technical superiority of Graff's craftsmanship but also the risk-taking imagination that goes into creating such an object.

While impressive, the brooch itself is a multi-use gesture. The dark blue diamond in the centre can be taken out and worn alone, providing the wearer with a less showy but no less indulgent option. This element exists to demonstrate a blending of excess and utility, something that has come to define Graff's signature style.

Laurence Graff dedicated a lifetime to bringing master diamonds to life as timeless pieces of art. Nicknamed the 'king of diamonds', he's not only a jeweller—he's a storyteller through gems, not words. His designs are dramatic, gorgeous, and even unbelievable.
