Me Time in Man Cave

We go back in time to when our ancestors lived in caves and design what the Gen-Z man cave looks like—from the right place to lights, fun and a bar.

This Month, We Go Back In Time When Our Ancestors Used To Live In Caves And Feel What The Gen-Z Man Cave Looks Like!

House; what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you say this word? Comfort, right? Well, this is all we think. Humans might be avid travellers – some travel daily for work and some travel sporadically for leisure. But what we come to realise after a while is that the comfort and vibe our house can provide us is unmatchable. The reason might be our connection to our houses – it makes us feel safe and homely rather than any hotel or homestay. We can do whatever we want behind those thick walls and it’s our personal space – not to be hindered by any external element. There are times when we do feel disturbed in our houses too and need some “Me time” away from our families or our roommate. For those times, we have something for you that’s quite interesting!

As for the concept of man cave, it was discovered as soon as humans took the first step on the sphere of earth. Earlier, man caves were the places where our ancestors took shelter. But, a Gen-Z man cave might be too good to be true.

Every Man’s Dream – The Cave

If you’ve not guessed, we are going to design a full-fledged man cave inside your house and make it feel homely. From the purpose to the looks – everything has changed about caves. These caves will include everything you need to freshen up your mind and you can also invite some of your buddies.

Choosing the Right Place

Choosing the right place for this setup will be very crucial as a man cave needs to be cosy and timid. It can be the study room of your house or you can also opt for the little spaces that can be converted into a room. We suggest some places like an attic, store room, or a garage might be the perfect size for this.

There are some things that you need to keep in mind while choosing the appropriate place, you need to make sure that there is enough ventilation and if not, you can install external humidifiers for better airflow. And the area should not be that accessible to everyone. For this, you can install a hidden smart lock or just lock the entrance the traditional way.

Furniture Is What Speaks

Now the place has been finalised and everything is about to go crazy, choosing the right furniture will not only enhance its looks but also will add the element of authority and make everyone know that you are serious about it.

We suggest you go with metal and wood. A small 3-size couch and 2 bean bags will be enough for the setup followed by a coffee table right beside the couch. Try to keep the overall theme quite dark as poppy colours can do the opposite of making you calmer. Make way for some minimal storage compartments and a mini refrigerator for your alcohol or cold drinks.

Lights Are to Be the Deciding Factor

When it comes to a man cave, deciding the appropriate lighting would be quite beneficial as the perfect lighting setup can change the look of your room in a single blink. For the lights you must go with LEDs and reading lights only; avoid super bright lights.

Now, it’s your place but we suggest you go with subtle pastel neon coloured LED lights. Start by covering the underneath of your couch with these LEDs and then move towards that coffee table. It’s time for covering the whole room with these lights and lastly, you can decorate that table with a reading light complemented by an ashtray if you do smoke.

Let’s Add the Fun Factor

What is a man cave without a little fun? You enjoying your “me time” doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to seek peace. Sometimes all we need is a bit of fun. There are many options to go for fun, but here you have to decide what is your definition of fun.

If you are a gamer, you can install a projector and your gaming console. If you do like a wee bit of sportsmanship, you can install a table tennis table or a pool/snooker table. And our favourite is the arcade section where you can buy some arcade gaming machines and make them sit beautifully in the space that is left behind. If you have some limited space, you can also go with a VR headset and enter a whole new world within your house.

But What About Some Alcohol?

If you do still have some space left, don’t worry because this time we have something for the drunk heads. Alcohol has been the go-to choice amongst people when they want their “me time”. It can help you get that confidence back.

A home bar with stools against a brick wall

Installing a full-fledged bar inside your man cave will make this cave the dream of every man. You can go with something minimal like two wooden finish chairs and a compact bar table. The table should have enough space for storing your alcohol. Pour some of the ice from that mini-refrigerator and enjoy each sip.
