Makeup mogul’s beauty mantras
We have charted out the new summer makeup trends coming straight from beauty moguls palettes
Summers are here as we bid adieu to the paleness of autumn and winters. This means we are moving past the overarching trend of skin minimalism where only basic dewy skin was considered as a top trend in fashion lookbooks as predicted in the beginning of 2021. Now, the leading makeup artists and beauty labels have picked up their makeup airbrushes and are giving us some vivacious makeup goals. From socialite Kim Kardashian's dripping beauty in her latest Matte Mauve and Matte Honey collection from her eponymous label KKW Beauty to gradient cut creases and graphic print liner, you can glam up your look with these trendy makeup ideas.
Gradient Cut Creases
This is an eye makeup that will doll you up in a dramatic way. It amplifies the creases above your eyelids which are like a canvas to dish out creativity. Start with the most vibrant shades on your colour palette and draw a design on the crease by winging it out. Fill the upper part of the design by blending the colours you have used to create it. Now apply light base colour on your eyelid. Take a very thin brush or eyeliner and wing it out from your eyelids while drawing it on your crease as well. Fill the corners of the wings with a dark shade and then blend with a lighter version of the shade as you move more towards the inside. This will create a gradient colour pattern with a cutting edge design on your crease! This look was seen shining at KKW Beauty as done under the artistry of makeup mogul Nikki.

Double layer eyeliner
Gone are the days when just a single stroke of eyeliner could grab the eyeballs. With so much to do in the eye area, we have double layer liner to magnify the oomph factor. Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic has shared a glimpse of his latest beauty technique for beguiling eye makeup which is an interplay of two liners. He shares on his Instagram how he used a rich blue liner and then layered it with a metallic silver liner to give rise to a liquid metal line. The technique is most suited for evening gatherings when you want to dazzle in shimmery or sequin gowns wearing metallic eye makeup.

Mask Proof lip colour
Red is a colour of passion, confidence and courage. Moreover, red lipstick is still deemed as a statement beauty trick if you want instant glam. Now Dior has come up with its Rouge Dior Forever Liquid, which is a mask proof lip colour available in 11 couture shades that vary from darker shades of plum and brick red to nude pinks. The company claims that the lipstick won’t fade and smudge and coats the lips with “weightless film” and shining lip colour. However, while mask proof red lips are in trend, certain buyers of Rouge Dior have stated on Instagram that the colours do not match with what’s shown on the web. So pick wisely!
Illustrated Eyes
One thing that’s clear from the emerging trends is that the eye crease area is explicitly being explored by makeup moguls. From paper cut colour blocking to gradient cut creases and now the illustrated eyes, artists are upping the ante on experimentation. Eye paint colours are being used to present illustrations on the crease area with sharp eyeliner strokes for a remarkably striking look. Makeup artist James Molloy flaunted this look on model Ariunzul in a monochrome colour scheme of black and white with a teardrop in the corners of the eye. Bet a ranch for this style and nail in a party!

A pop of colour
When it comes to summers, nothing should go bland. From our dresses, accessories to our makeup, all ought to pop with colour to exude the vibrancy of the season. Apart from lips, we are going to see bright colours on the eye makeup palette this summer. From the coloured eyelashes in hot pink and neon that will create a whimsical look as if you are floating in a dreamy land to the new colour blocking technique with paper cutouts on the crease, artists are leaving no stone unturned to cut a dash and shape this trend. Other than these, colours are often magically blended in gradient style on the eyelids, to amplify eyes. Opt for dark colours at night and subtle tones of eyeshadow in day time for a bewitching look.
