During the daytime, I use a face wash, as well as a cleansing milk. I prefer applying minimalistic makeup and hydrating my skin at least two times a day, as I believe my face looks the best, only when it is properly nourished.
What kind of moisturiser do you use?
When it comes to the choice of a moisturiser, I tilt towards sticking to a product that has a high SPF, and is a non-greasy one.
What is your cleansing routine?
While you’re asleep, the skin is working its hardest to repair itself, so it’s the best time to apply and leave on an exfoliator, to give the ingredients time to absorb and correct daily damage to the skin caused by harsh sunlight. So at night, I make it a point to remove my makeup, cleanse, tone, moisturise and exfoliate.
Your secret to a flawless looking skin...
Nurturing your skin from within is equally important to protecting it from outside. For flawless looking skin it is necessary for me to eat well. I also try and incorporate daily exercise to improve blood circulation. From what I have read, this enhances the glow on my face. Other than that, the best secret to flawless skin for anyone is to get the right amount of sleep, relaxation and meditation. Always bring on the 100-watt smile.
What is your most loved lip colour?
My favourite lip colour would be M.A.C. Sheen Supreme Lipstick Bare Again. It’s a subtle, rosy pink neutral shade that makes your lips look soft and creamy. I love it as I can wear it anytime I want, be it on the sets whilst shooting, or for a party.
A beauty treatment you can’t do without...
My favourite beauty treatment would be indulging in facials. A facial cleanses, nourishes and exfoliates the skin, promoting a well-hydrated, clear complexion.
Any other indulgence?
I also enjoy mud baths as it is relaxing and revitalising. It infuses minerals into your body, helping to detoxify and soften your skin. I’ve been hearing of all these new facial treatments, like the chocolate and cranberry facial, as well as head-to-toe facial and really want to try them! Maybe on my next trip to USA...
Which is your favourite perfume?
I can’t do without my perfume, Burberry Weekend. I probably have a bottle of this lying everywhere, office, my car and house! It has a long-lasting effect and it has a warm and ultra feminine, breezy feel to it, that I just can’t get enough of. My husband keeps telling me that whenever I step out of the house, he can smell my perfume all over the house and even in the elevator.
One spa treatment you can’t do without?
My favourite spa treatment would be the one at Myrah Spa. I try to go there whenever I get some time off my shoot or son! The spa is characterised by old world charm offering a peaceful haven in our crazily hectic lives. Stepping in to the spa gives me a feeling of tranquility. Their Royal Four Hand Massage is my ultimate indulgence.
What is your fitness regime?
My fitness regime mainly includes working out in my gym. I also try to go for swims and do yoga regularly, as it not only builds endurance and flexibility but also keeps me calm. Besides exercising, I tend to concentrate on my diet and eat right at regular intervals.
Any beauty tips your mother gave you?
I have inherited a dry skin from my father’s side so right from childhood a ritual that I follow is a coconut oil massage. It helps my skin remain hydrated and supple. During my childhood, my mother would make a pack, mixing a pinch of turmeric powder with a few drops of honey and fresh cream (malai). Apply this on my face and neck for 15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. It instantly rejuvenates my skin and this would be our ritual before any big occasion, or festival. Quick, easy and cost-effective!
How do you keep your hair healthy?
One or two drops of Moroccan Oil after a hair wash on a daily basis if you have dry hair, makes your hair lovely!
How do you tackle bad hair days?
I tie a tight bun, or gather all my hair in a high ponytail. It’s easy, looks classy and effortless and most importantly, keeps the strays off your face.
