Balenciaga has always been hailed for its unique and out-of-the-box creations, but some of its designs have raised more than a few eyebrows and left onlookers scratching their heads. From the trash-inspired bag to shoulder dangling boot bag, the fashion house continues to push boundaries of what’s considered wearable.
Balenciaga’s other questionable design from the winter 2022 show, the 360° collection, the “Cagole boot bag” comes in a striking black and Fluo yellow colourway and boasts dimensions of L17.7 x H20 x W4.3 inches. While it may be a unique design, its practicality is certainly questionable. The single-compartment bag with one inner zipper pocket, may not be enough to organize your belongings, and the ends of the bag transforming into boots only exacerbates the storage issue. And let’s be real, this bag is not exactly the epitome of chic when it comes to a night out on the town.
The tacky design is not exactly what we call classy or bougie and with those heels on the boots, you will be poked and prodded all day long. This bag comes with a detachable zipper pouch and a heart-shaped mirror. The small zipper pouch has no storage space and is clearly impractical and is there just for the show. The heart-shaped mirror is cute but it’s hardly enough to redeem this disaster of a bag.
The tacky design is not exactly what we call classy or bougie and with those heels on the boots, you will be poked and prodded all day long.
This bag is made from soft and luxurious lambskin but may not be suitable for those with allergies. Additionally, the use of this material also raises concerns about animal welfare. It’s important to consider not only the aesthetic appeal of the product but also the impact it has on the environment.
This boot bag is certainly a bold and unique design, but it’s hard to ignore its impracticality of it. It seems more like a frivolous and unnecessary addition rather than a functional one. In the world of fashion, functionality is often sacrificed in the pursuit of a “unique twist” that is ultimately nothing more than a superficial, attention-grabbing gimmick.
Balenciaga truly made a name for itself as a visionary in the world of fashion, pushing the boundaries of design and creating pieces that are truly one of a kind. However, some may crave a more refined elegance, with designs that are not only unique but also exude luxury and that stand the test of time.
