Would you like to walk us through your journey up till now? What made you choose singer-songwriter as a career path?

I think for me, pursuing music, singing, song writing, and all that music has to offer is something I’ve always had to do. I sometimes like to say that music chose me. It was like this burning fire and passion that I just had to go and pursue. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. So, I went to school for music production and started working in the music industry, and found every possible opportunity to just write, sing and make music. Even when I was a six-year-old girl, I was writing songs and performing them on my fireplace. I’ve always loved making music and always will.

What is the one thing about Texas that you love the most? What was your most cherished childhood memory?

There’s so much I love about Texas. One thing I miss about Texas is the thunderstorms, not the tornadoes! But I really miss the thunderstorms. I think there’s nothing more beautiful than a Texas storm. I also really miss the people. There are a lot of great people in Texas. There’s truly no place like Texas. It’s one of its own.

What was the inspiration behind your new single Ride The Bull? How was the recording process?

My inspiration for Ride the Bull was for the person who needed a song that felt just a little bit out of place to feel confident and sexy when they listen to this song. And I’m a southern girl living in LA, so I wanted to combine the two.

What message would you like to send out to your fans with your latest release Ride The Bull?

I think the message I would like to send to my fans or anyone who listens to Ride the Bull is to love yourself. Life is too short to be stressed about the little things so be confident in who you are no matter where you’re coming from and what your background is because you’re hot and deserve all the happiness that you can enjoy in this world.

We have witnessed a largescale lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected many of us, especially the live gigs and concerts scene in pop music. How do you cope up with the stress surrounding this issue? What message do you have for your fellow singer/ songwriters about the same?

I think this is a chance to really utilize the downtime. It’s been really hard not being able to perform live. I miss it so much and there’s nothing I can’t wait for more than to get back to performing live. But I think we should take this time to really dig deep, create strong roots and a strong foundation so that when things open back up, I can hit the ground running.

We will surely be enjoying your collaboration work with Eric Bellinger in the future but, If you could collab with another singer/ songwriter, who’d be your pick?

Oh my gosh, there are so many amazing artists I’d love to collab with. I think 21 Savage would be really fun. I’m such a fan of his music! But then, of course, someone like Stevie Nicks would be the dream because she’s a living icon.

Have you ever had to face criticism or go through trolls on social media? If yes, how do you deal with them?

Yeah, I think when you put yourself out there online you always face criticism. But I actually feel sad for people who spread hatred online. I always try to combat hate with love. If someone is willing to write such mean and hurtful things, I can only imagine how they talk to themselves. So, I always try to show people as much love as possible even if they’re showing me hate. I don’t want to have hate in my heart because that just brings you down. So regardless of people’s actions, always be the best version of yourself. Don’t stoop to other people’s level.

As we know, you have been very vocal about body positivity and how Real Bodies are represented in media, what is the true definition of beauty according to you?

I think true beauty is in someone who is kind, loving, loyal, strong, and powerful. I believe that everybody is beautiful. And I think if you’re living your healthiest, happiest, and fullest life, there’s nothing more beautiful than that.

If you could trade your life with one other person, who would that be and why?

I would say a fictional character, Iron Man. I think it’d be really fun to be Iron Man. I mean minus the snap, but I just think hes the coolest person.

What one-line quote would you like to leave your fans with?

Always remember you are loved, you are special, and you were here for a reason. Never stop being beautifully you.

When should we expect your next single, or better, your next album?

Very soon hopefully. I have a lot of stuff in the works and I hope to get this out to you as soon as possible. I can hardly wait to show you everything I’ve been working on.
