“I am a proud author of scientific papers in Linguistics, Philosophy, and Psychology and I can speak fluently in four foreign languages.”

Hello Anna. L’Officiel extends a very warm welcome to you! To start off, would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Anna De Bekkar, I am an entrepreneur and international model. I have a PhD in Philosophy, and am also an Academician of the International Academy of Real Economy. I’ve already graduated as a university student, as a “Models Beauty School” student in Moscow that legendary couturier Vyacheslav Zaitsev is currently holding. You can call me an alumna of the “Charm” European Defile School as well. It’s led by famous director-producer, Art Director of the Production Centre “Grani” Valery Sorokovoy. I am a proud author of scientific papers in Linguistics, Philosophy, and Psychology and I can speak fluently in four foreign languages.

A little bit of sleuthing around reveals to us that you’re quite an accomplished woman! What is the driving force behind your success?

Everyone in this world can express themselves, no matter what it will be manifested in. If it’s pure and honest work – it’s worthy of respect always, no matter what. I’m entirely convinced – do what you love, love what you do. That would be the motto that I go by.

What is the one rule you have lived your life by? What effect has it had on your life and on your achievements?

I live up to my values which are crystal clear, as they’ve shaped my attitude toward those around me, and self-perception. Ergo my philosophy of life: My number one rule is first of all to respect other people’s beliefs and ideas. It’s about respect for people, for everything you do, and for all the possibilities you have been given by the universe. That’s how my parents raised me. Kudos to them for that! I conform to these principles, and it is easy for me because everything I do comes from the bottom of my heart. I try to make connections between myself and those around me easily whether it comes to work or just simple conversations. I truly hope I’ve come to the point where I can say without a shred of doubt that I’ve managed to do it.

“For me being a model – it’s a state of mind as I speak in my own language and make an effort to express my feelings, my tears and joy, my sorrow, and my happiness.”

Given the many hats you wear, how do you manage to stay on top of everything? How do you organize your schedule so nothing gets left out?

It definitely comes down to self-discipline, being completely organised, cold-focused and free of distractions. I am a workaholic and it keeps me in this striving mode that has one goal – perfection. I value my time as well as the time of others. I strongly believe that everything should be clear, proper and made on time. It allows me to do a lot and be happy at the end of the day because all my plans come true!

You’re a top model. What do you consider the best thing about this industry? And is there something you’d like to change about it?

That’s such an interesting question you’ve asked me! One of the things I said in an interview was about the same topic, but I’ll say it again. You either have this or you don’t! For me it’s not the endless route of walking shows and making appearances, it’s not posing in front of the camera. For me, it’s not a job. The whole thing is about a different kind of reality. If you define modelling as a job – it means one thing and it’s about losing your own self, it’s boring, no doubt. For me being a model – it’s a state of mind as I speak in my own language and make an effort to express my feelings, my tears and joy, my sorrow, and my happiness, but I talk to the viewers… I talk even when I walk down the runway: I tell a story with a movement of my head, a little gesture, a look, even a gasp. I spend a lot of time preparing for every shooting or show, every little detail must be gone through. I have visions in my head: little fragments of a film which I have in my head like a picture rolling, and I’m the main actor. That’s how I feel and it defines my philosophy, and is the way I see it.

“My developed style is an endless search, analysis, and constant work behind the handle.”

What is the one achievement you feel the proudest of? And why is it so near to your heart?

That makes a good point. There are so many fears and experiences in life that even a small victory in overcoming something that seems impossible can be construed as a great accomplishment. To be perfect, to be right, is too precious! But as a rebel by nature with a keen sense of justice, I try to always keep my emotions, realising that only willpower can bring up the character. And only a strong nature can bring you success. My life motto: “Do not miss a chance to do good to people, and it will come back to you twice as much!

What would you say is your favourite book? And why do you like it so much?

My favourite book is “The Sound and the Fury” by Faulkner. I remember crying after reading this book. It had such a strong impression on me. And I like this book because, despite all the drama of the story, people are not losing their dignity and humanity after everything that happens. It is also about the importance of staying true to your morals, lifeline, indestructible and persistent. It brings up a good point of never ever, under any circumstances, betraying yourself.

Your fashion skills are impeccable. How would you describe your personal style?

Thank you for your question. I’m actually kind of flattered – thanks for noticing. My developed style is an endless search, analysis, and constant work behind the handle, you know what I mean. And only after a while, you begin to realise that if you give 100%, and it can’t be any other way, if you’ve found your way where the appearance of ‘You’ cannot be confused with anyone else, from any angle – you’ve made it, you have this unique look that you’ve been striving for so long. That’s how you bring ideas to life! And, it just makes me so happy when people can feel it across the room.

So, Anna, what is the next mountain you’re aiming to climb? Are there any projects in the pipeline that you’d like to share with us?

Without any doubt, I give credit for our victories to the whole team. I have friends, my fellow fighters – without them, it would’ve been impossible to go any further. We make plans, and we dream together! And, don’t take my word for it – magazines, TV appearances etc. will speak for us. And it’s probably a bummer for you guys, but I cannot reveal any further yet, you have to live through that excitement, that’s true. I’m looking forward to seeing the end result, I just can’t wait!

We’ve had a great conversation so far, Anna. But now we come to the question our readers wait the most for: do you have any message for our readers?

First of all, I want to thank you all for those wonderful questions. My dear readers – thank you so much for your interaction and attention. I wish everyone here could say to themselves one day that they’ve made it – listen to the opportunities, take them, believe in yourself, and make your dream real! Love life – life is something that you never get twice and don’t miss the chance to do GOOD! I wish everyone to be happy!
