Talking of humble beginnings, tell us about the realization when you thought of picking acting as your career – who was your inspiration?

I grew up in a very creative household with parents who were extremely supportive of my interest in the arts. My dad would watch movies all day long, every day if he could, so I feel like my love for film and TV started there. After I took my first acting class in LA, I felt like I connected with my inner child, and I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.

If not acting, what would you be doing right now?
I don’t think I’ve ever thought about that because it’s always been acting since the moment I decided it.

Of all the projects that you have worked on, which one is your favourite and why?
Well, it’s got to be Boo, Bitch because the whole cast and crew were, are and will always be so special to me.

What according to you are the biggest challenges you face when you are an actor?
It’s really nice to have a place to put all my emotions when I’m working; the challenge is when you’re not working and you realize that all the external validation you seek literally HAS to come from within.

Suppose someone falls head over heels for you, what should he/she do to impress Jami Alix?
Ok, I love this question. Be honest, vulnerable and open to therapy.

You look gorgeous at any given time, what is your secret to being so fit?
Maybe on Instagram. My best friend Isabella Ward is my personal trainer, and she’s the best of the best.

Being a Youtuber, how much do you think the platform helps in building someone’s career? Give some tips to the people who want to be a Youtuber.
I’m more of an Instagram influencer than a YouTuber, but I do think social media helps tremendously in building your career because it’s more in your control. Obviously, you can’t control the algorithm but you can control the type of content you create and the consistency in sharing it. My biggest tip would be consistency over perfection. Just keep pressing share.

If you were given a chance to work with someone from Hollywood, who would it be and why?
This question always feels impossible because there are so many people that inspire me. Jim Carrey would 100% be a career highlight.

Put some light on the projects that you are currently working on.
I’ll be playing a fun character on the upcoming Netflix series, ‘Freeridge,’ and hopefully, I’ll have more exciting updates in the very near future!

We were delighted to have you on board. What advice would you like to give to people who aspire to be like you?
Thank you for having me! My advice would be to get to know yourself deeply first. Do the inner work and make a commitment to yourself to keep evolving into the person you want to be. It feels vague and general, but I never feel like the same Jami year after year. My goal is to constantly keep getting better and better in everything I do.
