When we say vegan, we simply mean not using leather that is animal skin for the production.

In the era of increasing carbon footprints and the destruction of resources humongous, big brands are taking an initiative to go vegan. It thus helps in both ways; to gain a positive brand image as well as helps nature to heal a little. Luxury designers and brands are collaborating with companies that are processing vegan materials, such as making bags from the use of mushroom/fungi, recycled plastic, polymer, apple peel skin, vegetable by-products and the list of vegan material goes on. When we say vegan, we simply mean not using leather that is animal skin for the production. This is therefore one of the ways to go sustainable while brands also practice other sustainable methods of production in times today. Major luxury brands like Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, Hermes, and many others have stopped the use of fur and exotic skin in their collection and so today we are here to talk about the new Hermes launch of the vegan bag, that you can choose to pick if looking for an eco-friendly investment.

Luxury bag

The bag echoes the fascination and excellence of the brand’s skills and can be seen as a modern innovation.

Luxury brand Hermes is to launch its mushroom leather handbag in the market made up of 100% root systems of mushrooms. The brand collaborated with start-up MycoWorks and has come out with an exclusive handbag that took them around 3 years to prepare. This bag is going to be the first commercially available product made using Sylvania/ Mycelium. The collaboration of both brands does look fruitful as both seem to look behind telling people a story through their product and their true craftsmanship. The bag echoes the fascination and excellence of the brand’s skills and can be seen as a modern innovation. The price of such an innovation can be an expensive affair but it can be picked for long-term investment and usage.

The 184- years old brand has come up with the American start-up brand to reimagine their popular Victoria duffle bag using vegan material this time. Although even claiming that it’s completely vegan, a lot of reviews and comments online state that they use a calfskin element which does not make them completely vegan. The brand itself states that it has a mixture of hide skin of cow which is a natural process of taking pelt from animals, but the debate continues and we cannot get to the conclusion.
