Stepping into the world of a luxury patron that is a benchmark for opulent service is always a memorable feat. But in the world of Oberoi’s, you are truly treated as royalty. It soon started raining as we stepped onto the 9th floor where Cirrus 9 - the rooftop lounge bar of the hotel awaited our arrival. With wind gushing through our hair and an exquisite cocktail in our hand, we knew this is the new “it” place to be at.
Every cocktail at Cirrus9 comes with its own story. And with a breath of fresh air, they also bring to the table the concept of sharing cocktails. Imagine going out for a night out with your girlfriends and sipping on some delectable cocktails in the lap of luxury itself, sounds divine, doesn’t it?
What caught our attention was Emperor Yao’s Pleasure. Truly a drink fit for a king, it comes with its own theatrics that are at play with aromatic fog that mesmerises the spirit connoisseur. Served in a teapot with Pandang infused gin, the drink takes its subtle pink hue from the pomegranate and it’s robust journey is completed when lime and the Chinese five spice syrup complete their infusion. The cocktail portfolio at the terrace perched bar is truly a melting pot of tropical and oriental influences.
With an attitude that embraces ‘service before self’, sampling at this bar can be an experience that one would cherish. Their delectable food menu of globe-spanning delicacies that are both adventurous and familiar, allows you to indulge in some of the best culinary affair in the city. Perfectly paired, bite-sized Vietnamese rice paper rolls with sweet chilli dip, chicken tonnato with pickled peppers, fish and chips tarlets, chicken croquette with aioli and the smoked salmon, dill and lemon flat bread make for the perfect appetizers. Their chef makes his point of one dish at a time, so what could seem at first to just be a flavourful bite, turns out to be more than that. And every town really could do with a place like that.
