A culmination of her admiration for crafts and textiles, her home resonates with this love, as the woman behind the label Pinnacle, Shruti Sancheti, takes us on a tour of her beautiful 25,000 sq. ft house in Nagpur, which is complete with crystal from Prague and antique carpets from Turkey.
Our family lifestyle shaped up the final look of the house. Our idea was to have a very homely and practical atmosphere rather than an ornate or opulent one because all of us travel a lot. Since the children were young, we decided to make the house child-friendly. Our interiors include paintings and gifts from near and dear ones.
I wanted a comfortable look which was hassle-free considering the nomadic life we live (we all live out of suitcases). Thus, I wanted a big garden and open spaces.
The favourite space is my glass house and gazebo in the garden. That is where I sit and have tea, or host a gathering with friends while being surrounded by greenery.
Initially, I was enthusiastic to try lighting that adjusted colour according to the mood of the room, but later, switched to normal lights, which of course helped light up the rooms. Yes, once in a while I do use soft yellow lights in the evening in the living room, just to give the ambience of the room and house more drama.
