POWER DUO

POWER DUO

The House of Chanel has done something that has never been attempted before. It’s also the last to come from legendary Karl Lagerfeld.

The Legend
Karl Lagerfeld knew how to spark a trend. Chanel’s latest, the Side Pack, fast becoming an obsession since its release during the spring/summer 2019 show. It comes on the heels of 2.55, Boy, Gabrielle and Chanel 31 collection.

The Make
Crafted with quilted lamb, the Side-Pack is actually a duo of bags. With closed flaps with iconic double C that crosses each side, it is launched at the right time because cross-body bags have made a comeback.

The Details
With two interlaced chain shoulder straps in leather, it slips like a v-neck from either side. With three sizes, it not only comes in signature Chanel bag colours— black, white, beige—but also in lemon yellow and red. Functional yet elegant.

We'd seen it at Fendi and Balenciaga, but it was Chanel's spring/summer 2018 show that really started the two-bag trend. The legendary designer unveiled the bags of the season amidst a galore of images, the campaign brings to life the new side pack in quilted lambskin. And although the look gave us all an excuse to purchase two Chanel bags instead of one.

In the quest of all-things ultra-modern and casually chic, the side pack takes center stage, shining with originality, functionality, and elegance. The best part of it all? The handy bag can take you from day to night in sheer style, whether you’re simply wearing an iconic tweed jacket and denim trousers, or you’re going full-on style with a suit or an evening gown. The flap bags in quilted terry toweling, on the other hand, evoke the timeless sophistication for which the French Maison is known, all the while blending it with vibrant colors and a shoulder strap that slips on like the straps of a backpack.
