Welcome to L’Officiel India, Dasha! First of all, could you tell us about your journey into the world of fashion? What inspired you to become a model?

Initially, modeling seemed like just a dream, highly romanticized with notions of beauty, grace, flawlessness, and style. My mother instilled a love for fashion in me, which led me to develop a deep fondness for it. As I began dressing well, I found joy in seeing my reflection in the mirror. This dream took root at a young age, though its realization was delayed as I focused on building myself and my family. Now, I’m fortunate to travel to my dream destinations, as this dream has become my reality.

What’s the most exciting moment you’ve experienced in your modeling career?

The most thrilling moment was my first shoot for a showroom, where I received my first fee after completing my schooling. I’m generally a nervous person, and the weight of responsibility always accompanies me. I feel nervous before every job because I want everyone to appreciate the result of my work.

How would you describe your personal style?

I wear what I want—just kidding. I enjoy wearing a variety of clothes in different colors and shapes, but my style leans towards the retro-classic. I often opt for clean and elegant attire, yet I also appreciate luxurious pieces crafted from high-quality fabrics. Shopping, for me, is a deliberate activity conducted in familiar places, where I enjoy leisurely selecting rare finds while sipping coffee and chatting quietly.

Can you recall any significant moments from your fashion shows or shoots? What event or occasion left the biggest impression on you?

I can unequivocally say that the show of Russian designer Alexander Arutyunov was grandiose in all respects. Daring, fashionable, cool, and large-scale! The shoot, which took place in February in Milan, where it was 20 degrees Celsius and sunny, while I wore a black wig, will remain forever in my memory. I remember all my work very well and am proud of them!

If you could peek into the private dressing room of any global designer, whose closet would it be?

I think it would be designer Yves Saint Laurent. I would also be very curious to explore Vivienne Westwood’s closet. And, of course, Coco Chanel’s. Well, I guess I won’t continue the list since you asked for only one designer.

What kind of outfit do you prefer for daily life?

In everyday life, I prefer something comfortable, as the day is full of active activities. Comfort is important to me! Jeans, sneakers, a T-shirt, and a loose jacket are probably my favourite clothes.

How do you manage to balance your modeling schedule with taking care of yourself?

This is what I love to do, and I believe these two activities are interconnected. Without taking care of myself, I can’t be satisfied with myself. Being happy with myself is one of the main tasks of a model. I love sports—a healthy and flexible body allows me to move beautifully and gracefully. I follow a healthy diet to keep my skin glowing and clean. I also visit salons regularly to ensure my hair and nails are well-groomed. It’s all about self-love. I always make time for what is truly necessary and important.

What’s the best fashion advice you’ve ever received, and how has it helped you?

I can’t say it’s ever happened. I really don’t like taking fashion advice.

What is your dream project outside of modeling in the future?

I recently started a new project as a presenter, and I’m passionate about it. I would like to pursue it more seriously and expand my involvement. Interviewing is a great art, and I want to develop my skills and improve with each opportunity.

Share some tips for aspiring models who want to make a name for themselves in the industry.

It’s better to try to take less advice. Tastes differ, and everyone has their own understanding of life and approach. Therefore, it’s better to form your own opinions and gather more of your own views and impressions. Don’t overthink it; cultivate your own taste and style.
