Beauty has no clear definition – it is very subjective, but one thing that is consensual, is the sensuality of our Cover star for the L’Officiel July edition – Madison Shamoun.

Goodness gracious – is the aphorism that can explain your accurate reaction after seeing Madison Shamoun on the cover of L’Officiel India for July Edition. “I’ve loved every project I’ve been a part of, but The Lake has truly been a formative part of my experience.” Says Madison after being asked about her favourite project. Interview

It takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to blow my hair out straight, whereas wearing my hair curly takes no time at all.

Talking of humble beginnings, from where did you get the inspiration of pursuing theatre and cinema as your career?

I’ve always loved performing. I used to put on plays in my neighbourhood. I’d come home from school every day, hop on the computer, and re-watch old episodes of LostBuffy, or How I Met Your Mother until I had the lines memorized.

We have seen you in both the hairstyles but what do you prefer – curly hair or an all-straight look?

I don’t think I have a preference! It honestly depends on so many different things. It takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to blow my hair out straight, whereas wearing my hair curly takes no time at all. But I can also go longer without washing my hair when it’s straight which is also convenient if I’m working/travelling. I will say it took me a long time to appreciate my curly hair, but I love that I can go back and forth between the two.

If not an actress, in which profession would you have been as of now?

I think my family would say I could’ve been a lawyer. I love discourse and hate injustice. I’m definitely a devil’s advocate! And Legally Blonde made it look like a riot.

From all the projects that you have been a part of, which one is your favorite and why?

I’ve loved every project I’ve been a part of, but The Lake has truly been a formative part of my experience. For the past year and a half, I’ve been eating, sleeping, breathing, and dreaming of The Lake 24/7.

If you were given a chance to be stranded alone on an island, with whom would it be and where?

Oh boy. I would choose a modern, metro island like Maui haha. So, I could eat more than just bananas and coconuts. And I’d bring my siblings. They’re like Irish twins, so a package deal!

You have acted in Hits like The Lake and All American. According to you what is the most difficult part of being an actor?

I think one of the more difficult parts is that you have to be emotionally available, constantly, sometimes – for months on end. That can be exhausting. There’s also so much of this job that has nothing to really do with acting itself. That can be challenging too.

Suppose someone wants to ask you out on a date. How would you define your Mr Perfect?

I don’t think the perfect person exists. But a great date would include some laughs, a good chat, french fries, and champagne!

You always manage to look so fit yet charming. What’s your fitness secret?

Wow, I’m flattered! I naturally like eating healthy and clean. I’m also gluten and lactose intolerant, so I’m sure that helps, but in the past few years, I’ve gotten more and more into weightlifting/fitness in general.

Are there any projects that you are working on right now? Please shed some light on those.

I’m shooting something over the course of the summer, but I can’t talk about it just yet! I’d get in trouble, so you’ll have to stay tuned!

Our readers were very excited to have you on board. What message would you like to give them?

I hope you’ve gotten to know me a bit better. Watch The Lake on Prime Video and let me know what you think!
